National Minimum Wage in Ireland


The National Minimum Wage in Ireland for an experienced adult worker in Ireland increases from €10.10 to €10.20 per hour with effect from 1 January 2021.

From 1 January 2021 sub-minimum rates are based solely on age:


Minimum hourly rate of pay, €

% of minimum wage

National minimum wage (Aged 20 and over)



Aged under 18



Aged 18



Aged 19



Since 4 March 2019 trainee rates are abolished.          



Employers should ensure that they understand their obligations under this legislation.
